There’s something special about the country – it’s a place where busy minds can switch off and life winds down to a slower speed.
Last week, photographer Andrew Tallon swapped Brisbane for the Bunyas to get a dose of country living. Hosted by Kathy and Reg at Bunyip Springs Farm Stay, Andrew was put through his cow milking, chicken running and alpaca feeding paces and these are his favourite moments of life on the farm.
- Just two-and-a-half hours north west of Brisbane sits Bunyip Springs Farm Stay, where you can roll up your sleeves and help farmers Kathy and Reg with their daily tasks.
- Mum and dad enjoy breakfast with their brood.
- Every morning Kathy and Reg head out to milk the cows by hand. This fresh milk is then offered to guests.
- The girls go wild when Kathy and guests come out with the morning feed. If you’re up early you can help collect the eggs.
- The alpacas enjoy the rolling hills and spectacular views over Maidenwell.
- At just three-days old these two adorable potty calves love being hand fed. You never know what new arrival you’ll spot on the farm.
